Barbara Cuthbert, a Special Olympics coach, started OfficeBella. Her vision was to build a business based on superior customer service. Like many other women, her plans were put on hold for several years due to family priorities, but when her son reached his early teens, she finally made her dream of starting a business a reality. She established her office supplies business with the State of Connecticut in June 2006 and soon had a good reputation for integrity and honesty. After building an ecommerce website to launch her offerings online in 2008, she kicked off the online office supplies business, ultimately building it into a multi-million dollar business. In 2009 she partnered with Shared FM Enterprises, Inc. of Boston, a company engaged in providing business and technology services, and in 2010 she transferred the assets of the business to Shared FM. Shared FM is a certified minority enterprise with MBE and DBE certification by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. OfficeBella now participates in supplier diversity programs.
